Overview
Yellow grease records track the collection of used cooking oil from food service establishments. Unlike pump outs, yellow grease records are not tied to a specific GCD (grease control device) or vehicle. They track the volume of oil collected, the provider who collected it, and the establishment where collection occurred.
This feature requires the yellow_greases feature flag to be enabled for your organization.
Navigation
Click Pump outs in the sidebar, then click Yellow grease in the sub-menu.
π Note: On mobile devices, Yellow grease appears as a sub-item under Pump outs. If only yellow grease is enabled (without pump outs), the navigation may route directly to the yellow grease list.

What happens next
The yellow grease record is saved. If it is linked to an establishment, it appears as "matched." If the establishment cannot be identified, the record is "unmatched" and can be matched later.
Matched vs. unmatched records
Status | Meaning |
Matched | The record is linked to an establishment in your system |
Unmatched | The record is not linked to an establishment. The establishment name and address are stored but not connected to an establishment record |
Unmatched records typically come from imports or API submissions where the establishment could not be automatically identified.
β Important: Imports can quickly create duplicate or partial records that are hard to fix afterward. Before running a bulk import, reach out to your CSM (Customer Success Manager). They'll walk you through the correct template, the column requirements, and any data prep your file needs -- and can review your file before you commit. Contact support@swiftcomply.com or your assigned CSM.
Importing and exporting
Export: Use the Export option on the yellow grease list to download records in CSV format.
Import: Use CSV import to bulk-upload yellow grease records.
FAQ
Do yellow grease records affect establishment compliance?
No. Yellow grease records do not affect the GCD Compliance status. Only pump out records factor into compliance calculations.
Why don't I see Yellow Grease in my sidebar?
The yellow_greases feature flag must be enabled for your organization. Contact your SwiftComply administrator to enable it.
Can I link a yellow grease record to a specific GCD?
No. Yellow grease records are for cooking oil collection and are not associated with specific grease control devices. Use pump out records to track GCD servicing.
What is the difference between gallons, litres, and pounds?
These are the available measurement units for the collected volume. Choose the unit that matches how your organization measures oil collection. Gallons is the default.
