Reporting a Replacement Assembly

When testing an assembly, you may come to the conclustion that the current assembly cannot be repaired and a new assembly will need to be installed in its place. Follow the steps below for SwifComply's suggested steps for reporting this new assembly.

  1. Submit a test report showing failing results of the initial assembly. The city/organization will want a record to show why this assembly needs to be replaced.

  3. Click the Green Save Notes button to save your work. This saved note will be seen by your city/organization when they log on to approve your test report and it will help them complete the replacement process on their end.

  4. Now that you've completed the final test of the current assembly, complete the installation on the new assembly and run your initial test.

  5. Go to the Test Reports tab and click the Green New Test Report button.

  6. Put the address of the original assembly in the the Location Address field and click the Green Magnifying Glass, or press Enter.

  7. Select the correct location record and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page.

  8. Click the Grey New/Replacement Assembly button.

  9. Continue selecting your Service Provider, Tester, and Test Kit.

  10. Confirm that the location details are correct and input the NEW assembly details into the appropriate fields. All fields that are notated with an asterisk (*) are required.

  11. Continue through the test report as usual adding in your initial test results and using the Green Next button to progress through the report.

  12. When you're finished, click the Green Save & Submit button.

  13. In the Test Report Record, add a note to the city/organization in the Notes field letting them know that this assembly is replacing another one and include the old serial number of the assembly it replaced.

Hot Tip: To ensure that the city/organization has seen your notes, reach out to them directly to let them know that you've replaced the assembly.
