Using Saved Filters on Assemblies

Learn how to create, rename, set as default, and delete saved filters on the Assemblies list in SwiftComply.

Updated this week

Who this article is for: Org/City Users

Overview

Saved filters let you store frequently used filter combinations on the Assemblies V2 list so you can reapply them with a single click. Instead of manually re-selecting the same criteria each session, you can save a filter set under a custom name and return to it anytime.

Before you begin

  • You must be logged in as an Org/City User.

  • Navigate to Assemblies.

Creating a saved filter

  1. In the left navigation, click Assemblies.

  2. Use the filter controls (search bar and/or advanced query builder and/or filter modal) at the top of the list to set up the criteria you want to save.

  1. Once your filters are applied, click the disk icon to Save the Filter.

  1. Enter a name for the filter in the dialog that appears.

  2. Click ‘Set as default’ if you want this to be your default filter that will load each time you log in and go to the assemblies page for the first time after log in.

  3. Click Save.

The filter will now appear in your Saved Filters list and can be applied at any time.

💡 Tip: Give your saved filters descriptive names (e.g., "Active RPZ - Downtown") so they're easy to identify later.

Applying a saved filter

  1. Go to Assemblies.

  2. Click the Saved Filters button or dropdown near the top of the list.

  1. Select the saved filter you want to apply.

The list will immediately update to show only assemblies matching the saved criteria.

💡 Tip: To clear a saved filter and return to the full list, click and red x’s next to a search or filter input or select ‘Unfiltered View’ from the dropdown.

Renaming a saved filter

  1. Click the Saved Filters dropdown.

  2. Find the filter you want to rename and click on it to set the filter.

  3. Click the edit (pencil) icon next to it.

  4. Update the name in the field that appears.

  5. Click Save.

The updated name will appear immediately in your saved filters list.

Changing the default saved filter

  1. Click the Saved Filters dropdown.

  2. Find the filter you want to make the default filter and click on it to set the filter.

  3. Click the edit (pencil) icon next to it.

  4. Check the ‘Set as default’ checkbox. There is only one default filter at a time so this will automatically set any other filters to not be the default.

  5. Click Save.

The filter will now appear with the filled in bookmark icon in your saved filters list.

Deleting a saved filter

  1. Click the Saved Filters dropdown.

  2. Find the filter you want to rename and click on it to set the filter.

  3. Click the edit (pencil) icon next to it.

  4. Click the red trash can icon in the top right of the modal.

  5. A delete confirmation modal will load.

  6. Copy and paste the filter name into the box to activate the delete button.

  7. Click Delete Filters.

The filter is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Since saved filters are per user, this won’t impact anyone else using saved filters in your system.

⚠️ Note: Deleting a saved filter does not affect any assembly records — it only removes the stored filter configuration.

What happens next

After creating: The saved filter is immediately available from the Saved Filters menu for all future sessions.

After applying: The assembly list is filtered to match your saved criteria. All other features (export, bulk actions, etc.) will operate on the filtered results.

After deleting: The filter is removed from the menu. Your assembly data is unchanged.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I see the Save Filter button? The Save Filter button only appears when at least one filter is actively applied. Apply a filter first, and the option to save it will become visible.

Why is my saved filter returning no results? Your assembly data may have changed since the filter was created. Review the filter criteria and update it to reflect the current data.

I can't find a saved filter I created — where did it go? It may have been deleted or not saved successfully. Recreate the filter and make sure to save it before navigating away.

I applied a filter but the list isn't narrowing down as expected. What's wrong? One or more of the filter values may no longer exist — for example, an assembly type that has since been deactivated. Check each filter criterion and update any that are outdated.
