Overview
Test kits are the physical devices testers use to measure backflow assembly performance. Before a tester can submit a test report, they must register their test kit in SwiftComply and have an accepted calibration on file. This article explains how service providers add test kits during the test report flow, and how authority users can view test kit information.
Adding a Test Kit
Test kits and calibrations are managed within the service provider record.
Navigate to the Service Providers tab.
Click and open Service Provider details.
Open the Test Kits tab.
Select Add Test Kit

FAQ
Q: Where do I add a new test kit?
A: Test kits are added within the Service Provider record. Click the Test Kits tab within the Service Provider record, then click Add Test Kit.
Q: Can I use a test kit immediately after adding it?
A: No. After adding a test kit, you must submit a calibration report for it. The calibration must be accepted by the authority before the kit can be used on test reports.
Q: Can I delete a test kit?
A: Only if the test kit has no associated test reports or calibrations. If it has been used on any report or has a calibration on file, it cannot be deleted.
Q: What happens if I select a different test kit during the test report flow?
A: The calibration selection is cleared automatically and the system will display the calibrations available for the newly selected kit, auto-selecting the one with the furthest expiration date.
Q: What happens if my test kit has no accepted calibration?
A: You cannot submit a test report using that test kit. You must first submit a calibration report for the kit, and the authority must accept it before you can proceed.
Q: Can I use a calibration that is in "Submitted" status?
A: No. Only calibrations with Accepted status are valid for test report submission. Wait for the authority to review and accept your calibration before attempting to submit a test report.
Q: How does the system choose which calibration to use?
A: When you select a test kit, the system auto-selects the accepted calibration with the furthest expiration date. You can manually select a different calibration if needed by clicking on its row in the calibration table.
