Updated over 8 months ago

SwiftComply FOG is now beta testing a 25% rule calculator in inspections.

Topics:

Percent Calculation Setup

To get started with this new feature, first click the cog icon in the top right corner to navigate to Settings. From the menu on the left, select Inspections.

Click the 'Percent Calculation (Beta)' tab.

Here, you can enter a label for the 'total' field and customize what components you'd like to be included in the calculation. The fields are prepopulated with some default options.

To add another component, select the blue β€˜+’ symbol. To delete a component, select the gray β€˜-’ symbol.

Inspection Template Setup

To incorporate this calculation into your inspections, you'll need to customize your inspection template(s). Click the 'Templates' tab, and select the inspection you'd like to add the calculation to.

Check Percent calculator present if you'd like to include the calculator in the inspection.

Check Percent calculator required if you'd like to make the calculation a required field (ie. it must be used during the inspection).

You can add the calculator to as many of your templates as you'd like.

Inspection Compliance Status Setup

If you're using this calculator in your inspections, we recommend that you create an inspection compliance category to reflect if the result was over 25%, so that you can filter by this status and can clearly see the results of the inspection on an establishment's profile.

To do this, click the 'Compliance' tab. Select Create compliance to create a new compliance status.

Assign a name for the compliance status (required), and choose a color code.

In the example below, we've called the status 'Over 25%' and chosen red.

Using the Calculator in Inspections

When conducting a new inspection on an establishment using a template which includes the calculator, it should show up below the 'Inspected on' date.

Once you input the total and component numbers, the 'Result (%)' will show you the calculation:

It will try to calculate the total depth by summing all of the components, but you can also type into that cell.

If the result is below 25%, this will show in green. If the result is 25% or more, it will show in red.

When the inspection is complete, the compliance statuses are shown in the dropdown menu at the end of the inspection form. If the calculation was over 25% and you set this up as a status in your settings, select that from the options.

Click Save to save the inspection as a draft, or Close to close the inspection.
