Printing, Bulk Printing, and Customizing the Print Layout

How to print individual FSE permits, bulk print filtered permits, and customize the permit layout.

Overview

SwiftComply lets you generate PDFs of individual FSE permits, print multiple permits at once using bulk print, customize the permit appearance with a layout editor, and import or export permit data via CSV.

Printing a single FSE permit

  1. Open the FSE permit from the establishment's FSE Permits content tab, or from the Permits tab in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the Printer icon.

  3. The system generates a PDF using your organization's FSE permit layout template.

  4. Save or print the PDF from your browser.

Emailing an FSE permit

  1. Open the FSE permit.

  2. Click the Envelope icon

  3. The system emails the permit details to the establishment's contacts.

Bulk printing FSE permits

Bulk print generates PDFs for multiple permits at once based on your current filters.

  1. Go to Permits > FSE permits.

  2. Apply filters to select the permits you want to print (for example, filter by status Active or a specific expiration date range).

  3. Click Bulk Print from the Actions menu.

  4. The system renders all matching permits as PDFs.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Apply filters before bulk printing to target the permits you need. Printing a large number of permits at once may take additional time.

Customizing the FSE permit print layout

The FSE permit layout controls how your permits look when printed or emailed as PDFs.

  1. Go to Settings > Permits.

  2. Click FSE Layout in the sub-navigation.

  3. Edit the layout using the rich text editor. Available template variables:

  2. Click Save to apply your changes.

πŸ“ Note: Only use the template variables listed above. The system validates your layout and displays an error if you include invalid variables.

❗ Important: Imports can quickly create duplicate or partial records that are hard to fix afterward. Before running a bulk import, reach out to your CSM (Customer Success Manager). They'll walk you through the correct template, the column requirements, and any data prep your file needs -- and can review your file before you commit. Contact support@swiftcomply.com or your assigned CSM.

Importing FSE permits

You can bulk-create permits by importing a CSV file.

  1. Go to Permits > FSE permits.

  2. Click Import from the Actions menu.

  3. Upload your CSV file.

  4. The system validates the CSV first (dry run) and reports any errors.

  5. Fix any errors and re-upload if needed.

  6. Once validation passes, click Submit to process the import.

πŸ“ Note: Do not re-use a CSV that has already been processed, or you will create duplicate records.

Exporting FSE permits

  1. Go to Permits > FSE permits.

  2. Apply filters to narrow down the records you want to export.

  3. Click Export from the Actions menu.

  4. Select the fields to include. Use Check All to toggle all fields.

  5. Click Export to download the CSV file.

What happens next

  • After printing: The PDF is generated using your organization's FSE permit layout and opens in your browser for saving or printing.

  • After bulk printing: All matching permits are rendered as PDFs that you can save or print.

  • After updating the layout: All future permit PDFs use the updated layout. Previously printed PDFs are not affected.

  • After importing: New permit records appear in the FSE permits table. Each imported permit follows the same validation rules as manually created permits.

  • After exporting: The CSV downloads to your computer with the fields you selected.
