Here's what changed in October. Jump to your program:

Backflow

✨ Highlights

A new Contacts page

Click any contact under Contacts in the sidebar, and it now opens as a full page with its locations, assemblies and compliance in one place. When a property changes hands, move all its locations to the new owner in one step instead of one at a time. You can also add notes, attachments and a "Care Of" field. Read how it works

Weekly payment reminders for testers

Testers with tests waiting on payment now get one automatic email each Monday until they pay, with nothing for you to set up. You don't receive a report until it's paid, so this should help reports reach you sooner. Paying stops the emails. Testers may call you about them, so give your front desk a heads-up. Read how it works

Improvements

  • Assembly, location and contact pickers now have a Show Inactive toggle.

  • Date fields on Assembly Details now show in your organization's time zone.

  • Tab labels on records are no longer all capital letters.

  • Link an existing assembly from a location's Assemblies tab. "Create New Contact" is now "Add Contact."

  • Failed test notices now combine all the failed assemblies at a location into one notice when the tests are accepted the same day, like due-date notices do. To keep one notice per assembly, check Disable Assembly Grouping on the template.

  • Days columns on the Assemblies and Locations tables now use your organization's time zone.

Fixes

  • Location pages now count compliance past the first 100 assemblies, and lists that stopped at 10 or 100 records now load everything.

  • You can save a contact without an email again.

  • Photos on test reports and surveys no longer go missing on submit, which mostly happened on phones. Report PDFs now print every photo.

  • Test kit calibration images open again and attach to the right date.

  • "Go to last page" works right away on Assemblies, Locations and Contacts.

  • A contact type that wouldn't uncheck can now be removed.

  • The replacement question no longer blocks Next when reviewing a test for a new assembly.

  • Location maps no longer show inactive assemblies, and the Assemblies table no longer shows the primary contact of an inactive location.

  • A rejected test kit calibration now shows an error instead of leaving a stuck draft.

Stormwater

✨ Highlights

Build your own Education and Investigation forms

Form Builder (Settings › App Settings › Form Builder) now builds Education and Investigation forms, not just inspection reports. Admins can set them up the same way they build reports, without asking us: click Create Form and pick Education or Investigation as the Form Type. Read how it works

Map markers for BMPs

Choose from 13 markers, like manhole or grate, so inspectors can tell BMPs apart at a glance. Markers turn red when a BMP has an open deficiency. If a BMP already had a custom icon, that icon is now its marker. Read how it works

Deficiency names from your corrective action list

On an inspection report, each deficiency entry now starts with a searchable Deficiency Corrective Action List. Pick an action and the deficiency name fills in for you. One pick fills two fields, and names stay consistent for reporting. Works on web and mobile. The list shows on forms where an admin has turned on the Enable Deficiency Corrective Action List setting in Form Builder. Read how it works

Improvements

  • See delivery, open, click and bounce rates for each forecast notification, and find and reactivate suppressed email addresses. Forecast notifications · Suppressed emails

  • Search for a site by its Site ID in Jump to or Search Sites. Learn more

  • Links in site and investigation fields now open in a new tab, and investigations have a new Reference Link field. Learn more

  • Sites created from the mobile app now get the same default settings as sites created on the web.

  • Add the new Compliance Status component to an inspection form in Form Builder. When the inspection report is published, the site's or structure's compliance status updates automatically. Learn more

  • BMP maps now show labels on lines and polygons.

  • Site map markers spread out sooner as you zoom in, so nearby sites are easier to click.

  • The email recipient page loads faster.

  • Structures now show on the web site map. Turn them on under Layers, and use the new Structures tab in the list to filter them. Learn more

  • On a structure's card, Pass/Fail is now a dropdown of your compliance statuses, and every change is logged in a new Status History section. Inspections now start from Create Inspection in the Actions menu, not from Fail. Learn more

  • Changing a field's label in Form Builder now updates that label in the PDF output too.

Fixes

  • The Investigations page now loads in about a second, down from 10 or more.

  • The Deficiencies CSV export no longer drops records, and a chosen corrective action no longer gets lost on save.

  • Editing a site no longer clears its priority status.

  • Outlook calendar connects again.

  • Education interactions count impressions correctly again.

  • Mobile: Create Report shows for users limited to certain sites, conditional fields appear on iPad, and several crashes are fixed.

  • Form Builder and PDF Template Builder: several fixes, including tooltips on more field types and the Code tab no longer overwriting the live PDF.

  • Repeating calendar events no longer disappear when the series is extended.

  • Structure Control Reports publish again.

  • Creating sites from the mobile app works again, and a new deficiency's level now saves.

  • Adding a contact to a report email no longer clears the recipients, subject and body you picked.

  • Report PDFs on newer forms no longer come out as a blank page.

  • Users limited to certain sites no longer see an error on the deficiency tables.

Industrial Pretreatment

✨ Highlights

See if each location is compliant

Every location now shows Compliant or Non-Compliant, based on its open violations. You'll see it on each location's page and in the Status column of the Industrial Users list. (The column that used to be called Status is now called Active.) Violations move from Open to In Progress to Closed on their own as you respond, so you no longer have to track it by hand. Industrial users can also see their status in the portal. Read how it works

Limit and Requirement Libraries

Build a set of limits or sampling requirements once under Configuration › Limit Libraries or Requirement Libraries. Then apply it to many outfalls and permits at once, from an outfall's Add Limit menu or the permit wizard's Limits step. Pick a federal standard, like 40 CFR 433 Metal Finishing, and its limits fill in for you. Setting up a categorical outfall now takes a few clicks instead of typing each limit. Read how it works

See a location's full enforcement history in one table

A new Enforcement tab lists every step of an enforcement case in date order, from the report that found the problem to the violations, your responses (like an NOV), their requirements and any follow-up reports. It replaces the Nonconformances tab on sample reports and inspections, and also appears on violations, responses and submittals. Search, filter, save views and export to CSV for your audit files. Article coming soon

Improvements

  • Nonconformances is now called Violations, with separate Violations, Exceptions and All tabs, each with its own filters, saved views and open count. Old bookmarks still work. Learn more

  • If a scheduled or past-due report is never going to come in, you can now mark it Not Submitted. The report stays on record as read-only, and the location gets one Missed Report finding instead of a finding for every missing result. Works for sample reports, inspections and submittals.

  • Export the Enforcement table with all columns or only the ones you can see. Voided violations no longer show on the Enforcement table or the Violations page.

  • The permit wizard skips the Limits and Sampling Requirements steps when your template doesn't use them.

  • Archive inactive limits to keep an outfall's limits table tidy. Archived limits are read-only, and you can unarchive them anytime.

  • Export to CSV is back on the Permits table.

  • Filter locations by Active or Inactive.

  • Sampling Results now shows Submitted On and Submitted By.

  • A sample end date is now required when you enter a result.

  • Resubmitting a sample report now asks for the certification statement again.

  • Ad hoc inspections now save as Draft instead of Scheduled.

  • Terminating a sampling requirement now clears its past-due violations.

  • Deactivating an outfall now stops its general control sample reports.

  • A permit's Limits & Requirements table now shows only that permit's own limits.

Fixes

  • Two people editing a sample report at once no longer overwrite each other.

  • You can no longer add results to a submitted report, or submit a report before its permit takes effect.

  • Inspection, permit and response PDFs no longer get stuck at "Enqueued."

  • Permits with more than 100 rows now save every row.

  • Backdated permits no longer create false Late Reporting violations, and overlapping scheduled runs no longer create duplicates.

  • Revised permits now sign on the first try, and new sampling requirements on a revised permit can be scheduled.

  • Deleting an industrial user, location or inactive outfall no longer leaves violations behind.

  • Sorting and search on Status columns work correctly, and hidden columns stay hidden after you reload.

  • A response's status now updates as soon as its requirements are resolved, without a refresh.

  • Permits whose template has no limits table can be activated again.

  • Sorting by Name or Analyte in the sample results grid works correctly.

  • The certification and missing-attachment pop-ups now have a Cancel button.

FOG

Improvements

  • Service providers whose saved card was removed are now asked to add a new one. Failed payments now send a clear notice.

  • Approving a sync request now notifies the provider, and approved equipment is ready to use right away.

  • The audit history now shows deleted establishments, and changes made through the API show which API key made them.

Fixes

  • Contact import and contact sync no longer fail or time out.

  • Old confirmation links now show a resend form instead of an error.

  • Hitting the e-signature document limit now shows a clear message instead of an error.

  • The Inspected On date field opens again on Samsung tablets, so inspections can be completed in the field.

  • The Mail link on an inspection works again when opened as a full page.
