We’ve made improvements to how SwiftComply checks test kit calibrations and tester certifications when backflow test reports are submitted.
These updates help ensure the equipment and credentials used for a test were valid on the date the test was performed.
The goal is simple: make compliance easier and ensure records accurately reflect real testing conditions.

What’s Changing?
Service Provider Selection Page
When starting a test report, you will still select the Service Provider, Tester, and Test Kit. You will now also select the Tester Certification and the Test Kit Calibration on the same screen.
Certification options appear after selecting the tester. Calibration options appear after selecting the test kit.
Continue Button Before the Test Form
After making your selections, click Continue to enter the test report form.
This step allows you to return to the Service Provider Selection page at any time if you need to change the tester, certification, test kit, or calibration.
Tester and Test Kit Information in the Form
Information from the records you selected will automatically populate in the test report form.
These fields are now read only, meaning they cannot be edited directly in the form. This ensures the information always matches the selected certification and calibration records.
If you need to change the tester or test kit, click the Edit Tester & Kit button at the bottom left of the report. This button appears throughout the report and will take you back to the initial selection page.
After making changes, click Continue and you will return to the furthest completed section of the form you were working on with your progress saved.
Validation Improvements
The system now performs additional checks when a test report is submitted.
Calibration Validation
When submitting a report, SwiftComply verifies that:
• The test date falls within the calibration’s valid date range
• The calibration record is approved
If either condition is not met, the report cannot be submitted until a valid calibration is selected.
These validation messages may also appear when opening an In Progress test report.
Certification Validation
SwiftComply also checks that the certification selected is valid for the test date.
Because certifications only store an expiration date, the system verifies that the test date occurs before the certification expiration date, including any configured grace period.
If the certification is expired relative to the test date, the report cannot be submitted until a valid certification is selected.
These messages may also appear when reopening an In Progress test report.
What You May Notice
Most of the submission process remains the same, but there are a few small changes:
• Some fields that were previously editable are now read only because they are pulled directly from system records.
• A new Edit Tester & Kit button allows you to return to the initial selection page if you need to adjust your tester, certification, test kit, or calibration.
• You will now click Continue before entering the test report form.
These updates help ensure that test reports reflect accurate calibration and certification information.
