Adding and Editing a Site

How to create new sites, edit existing ones, and use the bulk tag and compliance status editors.

Overview

Sites are the physical properties you manage in SwiftComply Stormwater. Each site can belong to one or more programs and serves as the hub for inspections, deficiencies, BMPs, monitoring, and reports.

Before you begin

  • You must be logged in as an Authority User (not restricted or read-only).

  • Know which program(s) the site belongs to.

Adding a new site

  1. Navigate to the program where you want to add the site (e.g., Construction, Industrial).

  2. Click the Add or Create button.

  3. Fill in the site details:

    • Name: The site name (required).

    • Address: Street, city, state, and ZIP code.

    • Notes: Free-form text notes about the site.

    • Status: Select a site status from the dropdown (configured in Settings > Location Statuses).

    • Tags: Select one or more tags from the multi-select dropdown. You can add tag descriptions in the collapsible 'Tag(s) Description' section. Admins can create new tags directly from this form.

  4. Click Create.

Non-admin users cannot change the initially selected programs on a site after creation. Only administrators can modify program assignments.

Editing a site

  1. Navigate to the site from the program's site list or use the Jump to... search.

  2. Click Edit on the site detail page.

  3. Update any fields.

  4. Click Save.

Program-specific fields

Different programs add additional fields to a site:

  • Construction: Start/end dates, site acreage, disturbed acreage, primary contractor info, on-site contact, administrative contact, regulatory identifier.

  • Industrial: SIC code, regulatory identifier, facility area, regulatory non-applicability reason (CA only), SWMP applicability (CA only).

  • Post-Construction: Site acreage, impervious area, area description.

  • Outfalls: Outfall ID, outfall size (inches), outfall owner, outfall type.

Bulk operations

Bulk tag editor

Path: Settings > Bulk Tag Editor

Add or remove tags from multiple sites at once:

  1. Filter sites by program, status, tags, or Site Profile.

  2. Select the sites to modify.

  3. Choose tags to add or remove.

  4. Apply the changes.

Bulk compliance status editor

Similar to the bulk tag editor, you can update compliance statuses across multiple sites simultaneously.

What happens after creating a site

  • The site appears in the program's site list.

  • You can create inspection reports, log deficiencies, add BMP implementations, and perform program-specific activities.

  • The site shows on the interactive map if it has coordinates.

  • Weather data is available if coordinates are set and weather integration is configured.
